Nie trudno zgadnąć, że jak dojechaliśmy do Valdez to padało…właściwie padało do końca pobytu w tej miejscowości czyli przez 3 dni.
Valdez ma bardzo ciekawą historię, było punktem startowym dla poszukiwaczy złota w trakcie Gorączki Złota. W 1964 miało miejsce olbrzymie trzęsienie ziemi w którym w wyniku tsunami spowodowanego przez obsunięcie ziemi zginęło 32 osoby. Po tym zdarzeniu około 60 budynków zostało przesunięto (za pomocą pojazdów) o 6km na nową bardziej stabilną lokalizacje.

It is not difficult to guess that as we arrived to Valdez it was raining ..it rained until the end of our stay in this city, exactly for 3 days. Valdez has a very interesting history, it was starting point for people who arrived during the Gold Rush. In 1964 near the city took place huge earthquake, tsunami caused by a landslide killed 32 people. After this incident, about 60 buildings were moved (by vehicles) 6km to the new more stable locations.

Valdez leży w fiordzie Prince William Sound i jest najbardziej wysuniętym na północ portem wolnym od lodu przez cały rok. / Valdez is located near the head of a deep fjord in the of Prince William Sound in Alaska. It is surrounded by the Chugach Mountains, which are heavily glaciated. Valdez is the northernmost port in North America that is ice-free year-round.
